I say get anything except alienware.. they cost more than other brands and use cheaply made hardware.. you're basically paying extra for the brand name. Whatever you do end up getting, make sure it has a video card with it's own dedicated memory, and don't skimp on a cooling pad.. make sure you get one with high CFM fans that move a lot of air.

i dont agree with that at all.
Alienware is about the same price as all other "gaming" laptops.
and its actually dell now if i recall correctly.

Yes, Dell purchased Alienware to replace their failed XPS Line.

Yes, but no new development is being done on the line. Simply there old product line which they spent money to develop and is still up to standard so no valid reason to discontinue those products yet; however, I would presume Dell sticks to the relatively good name of Alienware and drops XPS. 'Xtreme Performance System' lol.

many of my computers are "XPS"
XPS m1530, studio xps 16, and a xps 700 (had a xps 420, father has a xps 400)
All have been great machines.. then again i never bought them directly from dell with a huge price tag, usually in the outlet center for a fraction of the price.
